At Sudeley Castle the show consisted of new commissions and recent works presented in and around the famous gardens and historical ruins of the Castle, as well as in a stunning new exhibition space in the vaulted rooms of the dungeons.

Under the title Vertigo the exhibition examined how different artists use the creative turmoil that is generated by shifting perceptions of scale and balance, and by the confrontation of inner and outer worlds. Works in the confined space of the dungeons contrasted those in the open air. Vertigo brought together artists who explore these ideas from different perspectives and in varying media. Two of these Ghada Amer and Mariele Neudecker produced new commissioned works, inspired by the landscape and history of the castle. But for each artist Vertigo marked a radical change of context as none are traditionally associated with work in the natural environment.
