Duncan Marquiss’ was born in 1979, in Scotland. His work looks at man’s perspective of nature, drawing on the cultural history of the sublime and the failure to articulate it.

His video works combine complex imagery with his own music while his drawings depict familiar spaces slipping into supernatural abstraction. He has shown in the Scottish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and at the CCA in Glasgow.
